BP used navigationable animation to explain to the government, the media and the public some of the complex technology being used to deal with the Macondo 251#1 well blowout. From magnetic ranging to cementing to killing the well...explaining why these methods were being used to a wide audience who had a varying understanding of oil and gas development. These animations were very successful even with all the intense criticism! |

The Rig crews drilling the relief wells had to be up to speed fast with some very complex, 'never been used before at this depth' technology. With an army of World Experts in drilling and Well control behind them, there was much to communicate. Narrated and navigational animation is the best tool for the job. Many people comprehend best with pictures and sound. A picture is worth a 1000 words but a movie is even better. |

Nexen also uses animation as a tool to communicate to their development teams and rig crews. It's an efficient way to work, viewed online on a secure channel at any scale from laptop to conference hall. The program can be captured on DVD, installed on a network or viewed from home with the right access codes. Video, linked manuals in pdf, linked diagrams and charts, links to Safety documentation, links to other websites, links to databases etc. etc. |

BPAngola's Greater Plutonia Project has been online for over 6 years. The program covers the Drilling and Completions of the Angola Greater Plutonia Field. The Drilling program is also in Portuguese...it used for training and to get new people up to speed with the past development process. |

Web Application. This is a Safety Application that allows you to view safety incidents over a 5 year period navigating only 3 levels. It allows you to quickly identify the most dangerous tasks, the history of incidents and what areas they pertained to. Over a 1000 steps were documented for onshore development of a typical well, and were linked to data showing the contractor an date. It also contained links to actual in-house databases and lessons learned.

Web Application. An application to compare tasks in Simultaneous Operations, to see if Task A could be done at the same time as Task B. Red indicated 'No', with an explanation of why not. Yellow is 'possible' with conditions, and green indicates 'Yes'. You could compare 2 or more tasks. |

3D and Video. A 2-3 year project for SeaOne Maritime to market their revolutionary CGL transport/processing systems. The 3D work was done in Lightwave from various CAD design datasets, then compiled into video with audio and special effects. |

With over 5,000 content elements, audio, video from the field, safety information, subsea installations, and documentation, this site has run seemlessly for over 7 years. It was used on the rigs to amplify communication between the rig crews, service companies and the engineering teams. It is still used for training & an informational archive. |
